Organic vs Non Organic

In a world where everything is hazardous to your health, the area of children's clothing is an area you can try to control as much possible. If you have a choice of purchasing organic clothing over non-organic for your children, do it! You would be surprised at the amount of toxins in our synthetically died clothes and these toxins can seep into a child’s system. It is scary to think, one of the many basic things we do to help protect our children, is hazardous to their health. In the real world not every item of clothing is made organic, but there are precautions that you can take to help minimize toxins.
·         Purchase organic fabric detergent or detergent that is free of all dyes and formaldehyde
·         Wash the clothes before you put them on your children. I personally like to wash my clothing twice to make sure most of the toxins have been washed out.
·         Try to buy organic when possible.
When making my clothing for beaucoup baby and kids I try and use the organic onesies by Gerber. I realize that the fabrics I use to adorn them are not organic, but I feel the baby’s exposure to toxins is less because I use organic onesies. I always recommend washing before wearing. If you are interested in purchasing organic clothing for your baby, visit www.thepolkadotmonkeys.com enter the Baby & Child department and click on “beaucoup baby and kids”.
